Today was HOT, HOT, HOT! We decided that we were going to skip the heat, and head to the coast. Last week we bought a book about some neat places to hike around the bay area, and we decided that today we would do Point Reyes Lighthouse. Brian and I had been here in the past, not as far as the lighthouse, we just went to ride bikes. This time with Kara we decided to go all the way to the lighthouse. We packed lunches, and away we went!

We stopped at the Point Reyes visitor center to have our lunch, before we finished the drive up to the parking lot for the lighthouse. Kara did GREAT on the drive. It was very long, but beautiful, and well worth it. We had a lot of fun! The views were amazing, and we climbed 309 stairs when we came back up! It was a fun filled day, and we look forward to our next hike.

Gymboree

We had such a busy Saturday! Gymboree in the morning, and hiking in the afternoon! Here are some pictures of Kara enjoying Gymboree.

Hiking

Brian and I took Kara on a hike yesterday. My mom had sent me an article from Sunset, and it was a trail that you could hike here in Martinez. We had never heard of the trail nor had been to the place that it begins. Wow, what we were missing out on in our own backyard! The hike was quite a hike! Pretty much straight up hill for quite some time on a dirt path, but once you got to the top, wow what a view. Well worth it! I had Kara in the backpack, and Brian had the backpack with all of the water, bottles, sunscreen, etc..... We found a great outlook area where we gave Kara her bottle, and just had an all around wonderful time! Thanks, mom, for cutting out the article and sending it our way. It was a workout, and we were exhausted when we finished, but we all really enjoyed it. We will for sure be going back for more hikes in the future :)

We hiked to the top of the hill, and then found a different way down that follows the road. On the way, Kara fell asleep in the back pack - so cute!

Just Kara

Birthday Party Time!

Kara attended her first birthday party today, and she had a blast! Kara's friend, Scarlet, turned one, and we went out to celebrate with her! Here are some pictures of Kara and Scarlet having a good time in the ball house that Scarlet's parents brought along :)

Happy Hands!

Kara is now clapping her hands, and raising her arms "Up High" She is such a smart little baby girl, and we are so proud of her! I still can't believe that 10 months have gone by. Time sure does fly when you are having fun.

Kara's new walker

Thanks to Grandma and Pappa Doherty Kim and I picked up Kara this little stroller.
It took a couple times but she grabbed on and walked with it!
