Easter 2012

We headed down to Pismo Beach to celebrate Easter this year.  We had a wonderful time with Gramma and Grandpa.  Kara enjoyed an egg hunt and we enjoyed watching her!  We had a great visit as usual with Gramma and Grandpa.

Camping Yosemite 2012

This year we went camping for the first time as a family.  We went with our great friends, the Van Akens, and had an absolute blast!  i am happy to report there were no bear sightings, this was a fear i had!  Kara and Liam got along so well, nothing unusual there, and it was just overall a relaxing time.  We had the BEST campsite around, with unbelievable views1  waking up each morning to the beauty that is Half Dome, is unreal.  It's no wonder John Muir got out of Wisconsin and explored this amazing valley.

GET READY....

For some major updates, and pictures...  I know I have been promising for a while now, but I think I finally have a moment to do some updates :)  Brian is headed out of town tonight, so that will free up some time for myself, and I will be able to use the T.V. to post some pictures and updates.  Brian has created a computer that feeds right to our television, and all of our pictures are on that computer.  It makes it just a tad more difficult for me, who is not tech savvy, to then post onto our blog!  Enough with the broken promises, get ready for some pics or our family, and some major updates.... they're coming!

2012 - And I haven't BLOGGED AT ALL.....

So it's May, and I can't believe that I have not blogged at all in 2012.  I have been terrible, and need to get better at all of this.  Life is so busy nowadays, and I just need to dedicate myself to one night a week, I can do that, right?  So what has happened around the Dobrzensky homefront in the past 5 months....where to begin....

January - Kara has STARTED PRESCHOOL!  Aunt Julie ended up moving, and we were so sad that she would no longer be able to keep our Kara on a daily basis.  However, we found a fantastic preschool!  Kara goes to Forest Hills in Martinez, and LOVES it!  We love it too!!!  The teachers are wonderful, and Kara has such a great time there.  She has made some really good friends, and the families are all very involved, which makes me so happy.  Currently she is going three days a week, and then she gets to go to her good friend Quinn's house a couple times a month as well - which she also LOVES!

February - MY BIRTHDAY!  Really there is not much more to say, is there???  HAHAHA!  OH we also started Kara in swim lessons - only in CA!  She has been taking swim lessons at the Y, and loves it.  She truly enjoys being in the water, and Brian and I love to watch her act like "Ariel!"

March - Not too much happened in March - kind of flew by, and I am having a hard time remembering.....Oh wait, who am I kidding, Brian went to Arizona for Spring Training with Paul, Sean, and Steve - they had a great time.  They saw 3 Giants games, and at one of the games it hailed - weather has been so nutty this year!  I went to D.C. for the first ever DFGW!!!!!  Doherty Family Girls Weekend that is :)  Kelly bought a house in D.C, so my mom, Stacey, Auntie Paula, and myself all flew in for a long weekend to see her home, the Hunger Games, and one another :)  We had such a great time, and Kelly was the perfect host!  I can't wait for our next DFGW.  Such a great tradition!  I love my sisters, and loved spending time with just the girls!

April - We went down to Pismo Beach to celebrate Easter with Gramma and Grandpa.  We all had a wonderful time, and the Easter Bunny brought Kara some really nice things.  Kara also had a little parade at her school, it was adorable. Oh we also started soccer on Friday nights!  Kara enjoys running around kicking the ball with her friend Jackson.  We usually end up going out to dinner with the Joaquin's after practice - good times.

May - Well here we are, I caught up!  We will be celebrating Brian's birthday next weekend, while we are camping in Yosemite with the Van Akens, and we can't wait!  Mother's day will be coming up as well, and we will be driving home from Yosemite - fun times :)

I will do my best to keep this blog more updated, but then again, I always write that!  Between soccer, dance, swimming, work, and just our regular lives, I tend to run out of time....  I will post pictures very soon!  Kara has gotten so big!  Currently you may not tell her she is "Little, a baby, or small"  She will correct you by saying she is "big, a big girl, and tall"  It's really cute!  She is really concerned about being a big girl!  Which in my opinion, she is - we no longer wear diapers, or pull ups, even at night!  It has been that way for about 2 months now - well at night anyway, she has been in underwear since November.

Funny, because it of a few friends who recently started to blog, they have inspired me to keep this one more updated and going.  Thanks Remy :)

One More Ballet!

Tap Dancer :)

Dentist Pictures

I feel like......

....I am constantly playing catch up with this blog! I have been terrible at keeping it up, but wanted to post what has been happening around here.

Well, for starters, Kara is not in preschool, don't let the pictures fool you. We gave it a go, and it just didn't work out. We just felt like she wasn't ready, so we will try again in January.

Kara had her 3rd birthday, and it was all "Jellyfish!" She LOVES jellyfish, and the color yellow, as well as The Little Mermaid! So she dressed up like the little mermaid, and had a great little party. I made some "jellyfish" out of pasta and hot dogs for the kids, and they just had a great time. All the grandparents were here to help her celebrate, which is always so special.

Kara had her three year check up, and did great! She is in the 30th percentile for height, can't imagine why, and 80th percentile for weight. She is our little bear! Kara also went to the dentist for the first time, and LOVED it. We drive by there on our way to the gym on a regular basis, and she points it out every time.

We had success potty training over my Thanksgiving break! I LOVE the fact that I don't have to change diapers anymore, but I have to admit, I am a bit sad that she is getting so big! Where does the time go.....

Kara is becoming more and more independent, and Brian and I love listening to her play with her dolls and such. She is so imaginative, and creative, and we just eat it up! She loves to play with her Buzz and Woody dolls, Barbie, her kitchen, and she is enjoying dress up. She loves to do things "By myself" as she will inform you.

Kara has officially started tap and ballet dance class at Studio A in Pleasant Hill. Today was her first class, and she did GREAT! She really had a great time, and I just LOVED watching her!!! It really brought me back to all the dance classes that I took growing up. She was so adorable doing her tap, and ballet. She listened really well to the teacher, and I think she is going to just love to go every Saturday, even if it is at 8:15 in the morning. The sacrifices we make as parents are SOOOOOO worth it.

We are looking forward to the holiday!!! Kara loves "Christmas time" as she has been calling it. She loves looking at all of the lights on houses, and CANNOT wait to visit with Santa. I am really looking forward to Christmas this year, she is really understanding the concept. We have an Elf that has come to visit us, Dipperdo, yes that is the name she picked, and she looks for him every morning to see where he has landed. She talks to Dip, and tells him the things that she wants so he can report back to Santa! Loving the holidays!!!! Tomorrow Kara and I will go see "The North Pole Revue" at the Dean Lesher Center in Walnut Creek. I am looking forward to this Mommy/Daughter date, and I know she is going to just love it!

Preschool 2!

Preschool!

I can't believe it, but our little girl has started school! Kara has started preschool at a great little montessori in Martinez. We look forward to hearing all about her day and adventures when we pick her up. She seems to really enjoy it there, which makes us both very happy. Here are pictures of her first day! Yes, I made her pose - total mom move!

We gave Kara the camera to try and take some pictures. I think she might be the next Ansel Adams, what do you think?
