Garden '09

Seems to be a great year for the annual Veggi garden. This is my first year starting my Tomatoes and Peppers from seed. I sowed the Tomato and pepper seeds on February 11th, and put them in their final home outside on April 11th.
Their initial 8 weeks of life were in our garage on a shelf in my gorilla rack under two cheapo fluorescent shop lights.

Now they are starting to look like Tomatoes and peppers :)


These pictures take forever to post, so fast forward to today.
Had my first harvest of some Dwarf Sugar Snap Peas. Went fresh into our salad tonight and were excellent!!!
One of the tomato plants is approaching 6' tall and all seem to be doing splendid. Peppers have set pods and are doing well too.
Most are growing in my home made self watering containers with cages I integrated into the containers.
Just for a size reference, the lower black cages are 56" tall, the extensions add another three feet, and I fully expect they will be utilizing all of the heigth considering its still May and our growing season here in Nor Cal lasts till late Oct!

Steam Trains and Merry-Go-Round!

We took Kara up to the Steam trains in Tilden Park today, and had so much fun. We also went to the Merry-Go-Round. It was a bit foggy and cold, but a fun day none the less. Kara gets a little spooked in the tunnel, and the picture is so cute! Here are some pics of our fun day out!

New Toy!

Grandma and Papa sent Kara a new toy! She just loves it, the music is great, and it says things in English and Spanish! Kara is pulling herself up now, so this table is perfect for her to use. Here is a little video that I took today of her playing :)

Crib

Kara has learned to pull her self up in her crib! Brian was home with her this afternoon and caught this little video. She is just so cute!!!!! Enjoy :)

Tiny Dancer!

Gramma and Grandpa came into town for a visit, and brought Kara some really cute clothes, and sunglasses. She wears them well, and doesn't even take them off! She cracks us up! Thanks Gramma and Grandpa!! Brian and I call her Elton John when she wears them - Too funny!!!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Today was so wonderful! It started off by Brian letting me sleep in a little later than normal. He got Kara out of bed, and fed her for me, even though he had to be at work. So, yesterday Kara and Brian sent me 2 dozen roses, and I thought how wonderful that was. THis morning, he came in the room after I woke up holding two cards. Actually, Kara was holding one of them. I opened the cards, and they were so sweet, then the big surprise came. Out of nowhere, Brian pulled out the little blue Tiffany's box! I was totally shocked!!!!! Inside was a beautiful bracelet with a heart charm on it, so I will always remember my first mother's day! So thoughtful, and a complete surprise. I have the best husband and most wonderful daughter on the planet. I am one lucky Mommy!!! Happy Mother's Day!

Our Little Cupcake!

Over Christmas when my family was visiting, we went to San Francisco. We always go up to Ghiradelli Square for ice cream sundeas, coffee, chocolate, whatever. Well this year, we happened upon a little cupcake shop called "Kara's Cupcakes." We had to go in and check it out. When we went in, my mom noticed that they sold onesies, of all things. Of course we had to have one, and grandma was delighted to buy it for her, thanks grandma! Well it now fits, here are a few pictures of our little cupcake!

Sports Illustrated, Here I Come!

One of my friends purchased this SPEEDO swim suit for Kara. She is a swim instructor, and said that you put them on under a suit, they don't leak - very tight around the legs and waiste. Here is our little swimsuit model!!!

Kara is just the sweetest baby. She is happy, and so content! Brian and I consider ourselves very lucky to have such a mellow babe! Here are some pictures of our little darling, enjoy!
